The Healthcare Ministry officials agreed with the suppliers and manufacturers of drugs for children with cancer to expedite the deliveries.
Today, on July 17, the meeting with manufacturers and distributors of medicines for children with cancer and hematologic malignancies with the participation of representatives of the Board of Trustees at the Okhmatdet National Children’s Specialized Hospital was held in the Healthcare Ministry chaired by the deputy healthcare minister – the chief of staff Roman Bogachev, ForUm learned from the Healthcare Ministry press office.
"We are doing our best to supply medicines already these days. I hope we have reached a consensus on all major items and you will start deliveries, meeting the needs of the Healthcare Ministry and the sick," Bogachev said addressing the manufacturers.
During the meeting, a number of arrangements was made to accelerate the delivery of drugs to treat children with cancer and hematologic malignancies.
"Thus, the delivery of Vfend drug is scheduled for August, the Atgam delivery is scheduled for September, Granocyte delivery is scheduled for October and so on. Under the contracts, the deliveries of these drugs were scheduled for mid-December 2012," the report informs.
According to the report, today regional clinics have drugs for the treatment of children with cancer and hematologic malignancies totaling 31 million UAH. In the Okhmatdet National Children’s Specialized Hospital there are 40 kinds of drugs worth over 10 million UAH, which allow for treatment of children with cancer in accordance with the standards of treatment.
