The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has issued a decree on sending peacekeepers to Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. The text of the decree is posted on the official website of the Head of State.

"To send peacekeeping troops for Ukraine to participate in cross-border transactions within the inter-mission cooperation between the UN Mission in Liberia and the United Nation’s Operation in Cote d'Ivoire within the period determined by the UN Security Council, numbering up to 100 of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent, which operates as part of the UN Mission in Liberia," the document says.

The Cabinet is entrusted to ensure the direction of the peacekeeping contingent.

With another decree the President has sent peacekeepers to the Republic of South Sudan within Ukraine's participation in the UN Mission to provide security in Abyei.

The secretary of the national security and defense of Ukraine should control the implementation of this decree.
