On July 9, 2012, the National Bank of Ukraine and the Deposit Insurance Fund of physical entities (DIFPE) signed the agreement on cooperation and coordination of work, which comes into force on September 22, 2012 concurrently with the law of Ukraine "On the system of guaranteeing deposits of physical entities", the press service of the Deposit Insurance Fund reports.
According to the report, the agreement establishes new principles of cooperation between the fund and the National Bank due to the new powers of DIFPE in accordance with the law provisions.
It is expected that implementation of the agreement provisions will increase the efficiency of the cooperation and work coordination between the regulator and the fund, contribute to the stability of the banking system, protect the interests of depositors and creditors on the return of their funds according to the law, and thus increase confidence in the banking system of Ukraine in general.
