On July 6, the Kyiv District Court of Kharkiv sentenced 42 -year-old female non-working resident of Belgorod (Russia) to six years imprisonment with confiscation of property for trafficking Kharkiv female residents to Russia for sexual exploitation, ForUm learned from the Kharkiv region prosecutor’s office.

According to the prosecutor’s office report, within December 2010 - February 2011, a Russian resident systematically recruited Ukrainian women, using their complex financial situation, and trafficked them to Russia for sexual exploitation.

The suspected operated by prior agreement with the resident of Belgorod, against whom the law enforcement officers conducting a separate investigation.

The court found the suspected guilty under the Part 2 of the Art. 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Trafficking and other illegal transfer deals in respect of a human being).
