According to recent reports, the floods in the southern Krasnodar region killed 171 people.

There were three cities (Gelendzhik, Krymsk, Novorossiysk) and four settlements (village Divnomorskoe, Nizhnebakanskaia, Neberdjayevskaia, Kabardinka) in the flooding area.

5.185 thousand houses were flooded with a population of 26.475 thousand people, including 6.33 thousand children.



Now more than 2.9 thousand employees of various departments of Emergencies Ministry are working in the emergency area. The number of rescuer vehicles has increased in 1.5 times to 435 units.

Some streets in Krymsk, which have been hardest hit by the floods in the Kuban, are still flooded.



Local residents with rescuers and volunteers continue to rebuild their homes. The town of Krymsk, located in a valley, was hit the worst. Most of the houses were flooded completely, some of them are totally destroyed.

The Southern Regional Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said that the water has been pumped from 1.814 thousands houses, it is 60% of the required amount.

In total, according to the local authorities, about 3.3 thousand people in the Krasnodar region completely lost property while 18.7 thousand did it partly.



Krasnodar region governor Alexander Tkachyov has assured the residents affected by the flooding of the city Krymsk that new houses will be built to replace their destroyed homes within three-four months.

The traffic on the North-Caucasian Railway, where dozens of trains had been delayed because of the natural disaster was restored by Sunday morning.



In addition, the flow of light has been restored in Gelendzhik and partly in Krymsk.

On Sunday an initiative group of five residents of the Krasnodar Region inspected the Neberdjayevskaya reservoir by the helicopter.

"There was no discharge and no reservoir. The reservoir is currently fully filled. Water was coming out of the coast looking for a bed," one of the group members said.

After the tragedy in the Kuban region, the collection points of the humanitarian aid for the victims are opened all over Russia.
