Leader of the Party of Regions faction in the parliament Oleksandr Yefremov doubts that the parliament will accept the resignation of speaker Volodymyr Lytyvn.

Speaking to a ForUm correspondent, Yefremov said that the parliament would consider tomorrow both resignations of speaker Lytvyn and vice speaker Tomenko.

According to the current procedure, the voting on speaker's resignation is secret and requires 300 votes to pass it. "Somehow I doubt the parliament will accept his resignation," the MP said.

Yefremov informed that he met with Lytyvn in the parliament and asked him to reconsider his decision. "Our position remains the same. We keep working. We do not have any disagreements with Volodymyr Lytvyn," he said.

The MP also informed he had no information on whether Lytvyn had signed some laws or not and confirmed that this plenary session would close tomorrow as scheduled, even without the head of the parliament.
