The Verkhovna Rada chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn ensures that Parliament is not to consider "the language bill" this week, Lytvyn said at a briefing after the completion of the Conciliation Board of the faction leaders and chairmen of parliamentary committees.

"This question can not and will not be considered this plenary week. First of all, it is not prepared, and secondly, it raises the political opposition. These two reasons are enough to cancel the consideration of this issue," Lytvyn said.

The chairman of Verkhovna Rada said that this bill has already received more than two thousand amendments and the relevant committee of Parliament is working on it now.

"I think we have made a mistake. We should have established a working group and invited the experts to find a political compromise before the consideration of this issue, as the language topic is very important for our country," he added.
