Euro 2012 showed that Ukraine is a modern European state, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during his meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
"The fans, came from all over Europe, from around the world, have experienced positive emotions. They saw that Ukraine is a modern European country and that here very friendly people live," he said, noting that it is one of the main results of Ukraine’s hosting large-scale sporting event.
The President also added that the infrastructure, built within the preparations for Euro 2012, will serve future generations. "This is an investment into future," he stressed.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, in turn, praised the level of preparation and hosting the finals of European Football Championship. "Ukraine has shown a very high level of organization and mobility and a very high level of service and security," Rahmon said.
