Observers from the European Parliament, former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and former European Parliament President Pat Cox, visited Monday Kachanivska Penal Colony in Kharkiv, where former Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko is serving seven-year sentence, the press office of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine reports.
"During their visit, the officials inspected production facilities, an Orthodox church for imprisoned women, a school of general education and a vocational training facility, an emotional discharge room for prisoners and living quarters, as well as the detention conditions of Tymoshenko," the press office said.
The Service states that the observers have expressed their "positive impressions of the visit, namely about proper modern conditions of serving imprisonment terms."
