"Gazprom" hopes that the mutually beneficial solution will be found to manage the gas transportation system (GTS) of Ukraine, the general director of "Gazprom export" Oleksandr Medvedev announced today at the press conference in Moscow.

According to him, "Gazprom" is facing the problems beyond the competence of economic entities.
"I hope that the economic mind will prevail and the mutually beneficial solution will be found," the general director of "Gazprom export" said.

He noted that "Gazprom" supported before the idea of creating a consortium to manage the Ukrainian GTS. According to him, even a relevant organization was formed, and the German, Italian and French partners were planned to participate.

"At that time the Ukrainian side, referring to its law, ruled out this option. Obviously, the GTS value depends on the volume transit, which is carried out through this GTS," he said.

As ForUm reported previously, the national commission of regulation the energy sphere approved the access procedure to the unified gas transmission system (GTS) of Ukraine.
