The head coach of the English national football team Roy Hodgson is grateful to Poland and Ukraine for the excellent organization of the European Football Championship, he told a press conference in Donetsk on June 19.

"We are very happy. I would like to thank both countries for the way they are hosting this championship," Hodgson said.

He also noted that the concerns of many English fans on the arrival in Ukraine and Poland proved to be groundless.

"I think there were covered a lot of doubts in the media, how this tournament will look like. But I think that many of our fans did not come here because they had read some horror stories that may take place in Ukraine and Poland. However, I can say that we were greatly welcomed. It’s a great pity that Poland and Ukraine will not participate in the next stages of the tournament," the English coach said.

On June 19, the Ukrainian team lost 0:1 in the last Euro 2012 group stage match against England and dropped out of the tournament.

The head coach of the English national football team Roy Hodgson admits the error of the judge not scoring the goal against his team during the Ukraine-England match.
