Kyiv fan zone will be extended to Bessarabska Square starting with the semi-final matches of Euro 2012, the chairman of the Kyiv city state administration Alexander Popov said.

"The city authority decided to extend Kyiv fan zone in Khreshchatyk to Bessarabka, starting with the semi-finals of Euro 2012" he said according to the department press service.

According to Popov, 30-40 thousand people visit the capital fan zone in a day: "This number was considerably exceeded, when the Ukrainian team played. There were 100,000 fans in the Ukraine-Sweden match and 140 000 in match Ukraine-France ".

The Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration noted that it is expected nearly half a million fans in the final of Euro 2012 in Kiev. "That’s why we decided to expand the fan zone for comfort and safety of the fans," he added.
