On June 13 mayors of the Kharkiv and Tbilisi cities signed a partnership agreement, press office of the Kharkiv city council informed.

"For us it is a very important document. Now we are determining the active spheres of cooperation to make our partnership efficient and mutually beneficial. Kharkiv is a leader among Ukrainian cities regarding the establishment of international relations, and this agreement definitely helps developing and strengthening international relations between Ukraine and Georgia," Kharkiv mayor Gennadiy Kernes said at the signing ceremony.

During the ceremony the parties discussed possibilities to hold business forums within the economic cooperation, as well as opening of regional councils of Georgia in Kharkiv. According to the official data, there are more than ten thousand Georgians living in the Kharkiv region. 

After the ceremony the officials exchanged commemorative gifts.
