In the first half of 2012 compared with the data as for February 1, 2011 the size of a living wage per person grew by 8.8% and totaled 1037 UAH by the end of April, the social policy deputy minister and chief of staff Vyacheslav Kolomiets told a briefing today.
He also noted that the inflation rate within the same period made up 0.4%.
He reported that since April 1, 2012 a minimum wage has been raised. "It makes 1094 UAH, showing a 14% increase against the same period last year," he said.
Kolomiets also said that in April this year, the average salary in Ukraine amounted to 2942 UAH, showing a 16.2% increase against the same period last year.
