The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych signed the Law on amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine due to the adoption of the Law of Ukraine on the principles of preventing and combating corruption, ForUm learned from the press service of the head of the state.

This document has greatly expanded media's and citizens' access to information on the incomes of public officials, the head of the President’s Administration Serhiy Liovochkin said.

"The law, in particular, amended the wording of the Article 6 of the Law on access to public information. From now on, the information specified in declarations of asset, income, expenditure and liabilities of a financial nature, completed in the form and manner provided by the Law on the basics of preventing and combating corruption, except for the information specified in the paragraph 7 of the notes annex of the Act, do not belong to the information with restricted access," he said.

According to the head of the President’s Administration, all the declarations of asset, income, expenditure and liabilities of a financial nature filed by state employees shall be public and of unrestricted access to them.

"The signing of the Law was the proof of the transparency of the government's policy, conducted by Viktor Yanukovych," Liovochkin said.

He also reminded that before the adoption of the new law, the President and the leadership of the President’s Administration revealed their declarations of income, asset, expenditure and liabilities of a financial nature.
