Canceling fee for the issuance of national visas by Ukraine and Poland is a positive signal for the further development of the broad cooperation between two countries, primarily in the economic area, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev said, ForUm learned from the NSDC press office.

"It is symbolical that the fee for visa processing was canceled on the eve of the finals of the European football championship. However, I am sure that this decision should lead to greater cooperation in all the areas, strengthening the business contacts and cultural exchange between our countries," the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine said.

According to him, very good growth dynamics of the bilateral trade was observed in the last 2 years. During this time the balance of trade was leveled – the credit balance for Ukraine was reduced three times and approached to that of 2005, Andriy Klyuyev said. He recalled that in 2004 Ukraine had the positive balance of trade with Poland.

The NSDC Secretary expressed confidence that there is still much room for broadening the cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in the economy area. "Our country must take every opportunity to expand the access of domestic goods to the European market, as well as to attract the investors and tourists in Ukraine," Klyuyev said.

He expressed the hope that the free trade area between Ukraine and the EU will be established and will start to work in the nearest future.

At the same time, he believes that today it is important to strengthen economic relations with other key partners of Ukraine, primarily with Russia and Belarus.
