Ukraine is not to import sugar in this and in the next year, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said during the meeting with expert economists to discuss import substitution, ForUm correspondent reports.

"In 2010 we had to import sugar. But we did not import it either this or the last year. We do not plan to import it in 2013 as well," Azarov said.

In addition, according to the Prime Minister, Ukraine has reserves of sugar. "This is both good and bad. Ukraine stores 100 thousand tons. And this means expenses (for storages equipment - Ed.). However, it is good for our stability, which is our top priority," he said.

As reported, on November 16, 2011 the agricultural policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said that Ukraine was holding talks with the European countries on the export of sugar.
