The energy and coal minister of Ukraine Yuri Boiko stated that Ukraine is ready to comply with the commitments undertaken on energy carriers’ transit and with the consideration of all the Russian offers regarding this issue.

"Ukraine is fully ready to comply with its commitments before domestic consumers and to Europe on the gas transit issue," the Minister said.

Responding the question whether Ukraine is studying the proposal of "Gazprom" on advancing payment for transit of $2 billion for pumping gas into the Ukrainian underground storage facilities, Boiko said: "We are considering all the offers of our Russian partners."

As reported, the CEO of the National Energy Security Fund (Russia) Konstantin Simonov said that the Ukrainian delay in pumping Russian gas into its underground storage facilities in winter can lead to new "gas war".

Insufficient rate of gas pumping into Ukrainian storage facilities endangers stable gas supply to Europe next winter, the Gazprom CEO Aleksei Miller said.

In January-March 2012, Ukraine reduced gas imports from Russia by 2.1 times, i.e. to 8.547 billion cubic meters if compare to the same period in 2011.
