At the same time Doniy noted that if the draft bill adopted as a whole the Ukrainian language in the cities would be forgotten.
"Under the slogans of liberalism, humanism and democratization they simply state the idea that neither universities nor television will be obliged to use the Ukrainian language in cities with at least 10% Russian speaking population," the MP said.
In his turn, one of the authors of the draft bill, PR member Vadym Kolesnichenko said that the adoption of the draft bill as a whole is not on the table. He explained that between the first and second reading the MPs can introduce changes to the draft bill. "However, the PR and Communist party factions will support this draft bill," he said.
Kolesnichenko also informed that the authors of the draft bill are holding talks with other deputies. "I think we will find enough number of votes to pass the draft bill in its first reading," he said and added that the preparation procedure for the second reading will be shortened.
