Dr. Lutz Harms of Berlin’s Charité clinic says it could take up to six months for Yulia Tymoshenko to fully recover. "There is already an improvement. A full recovery could take half a year," Dr. Harms said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine, Tymoshenko's official website reports.

The German doctor said Yulia Tymoshenko’s health is improving slightly, given her hunger strike. "She has begun to eat and this week will be able to eat her daily norm. I think in a few days she will stand and step by step will be walking more," he said.

This week Dr. Harms was replaced as the supervising doctor by a physiotherapist from the same clinic – Anett Reisshauer. "I conducted an examination and met the patient and the Ukrainian doctors observing her. Yulia Tymoshenko looks normal, she’s in a good mood," Dr. Reisshauer said after leaving the ex-premier’s hospital room.
