Infrastructure Ministry is considering a possibility to introduce practice of personalized railway tickets, when a traveler will have to present an identifying document in order to be able to buy a ticket, vice PM Borys Kolesnikov said at the opening ceremony of Donetsk railway station.
"I think that tickets must be personalized. We are still considering this issue, but in my opinion we must introduce the system similar to the aviation one - first show a document then buy a ticket," he said.
Kolesnikov reminded that such practice had already existed in Ukraine. "I think we will have to return to this practice, though it is not very democratic," he added.
According to the official, such mechanism will allow revealing dealers, who make mass purchase of tickets for further reselling.
