The Ukrainian legislation is not ready to introduce "112" call system, Emergency Ministry official Oleh Tsytsak told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the official, the signed agreement between the Ministry and Hewlett Packard on "112" call system does not work.

"It is the fault of the imperfect Ukrainian legislation," Tsytsak explained.

"We've decided to cancel the contract. Now we have to hold a new tender, and the new project will be divided into several parts, in order not to tie it to only one executive," he said.

The official noted that the system of such level cannot be introduced for one year. "Even the United States area not fully connected to the system," he informed.

Tsytsak reminded that the plan provided for introduction of "112" call system in four Euro-2012 host-cities. "Unfortunately, it is not possible for the moment. The "112" system will not work in these cities, but it does not mean that the number "112" will not work," he said.

According to him, there is a possibility to activate "112" number and to readdress the calls to "101" number. Such calls will be taken only on four cities - Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk and Kharkiv.
