"Today we must admit that a large number of those arrested and sent to prison corrupt officials are among the representatives of current government. From all levels - from the Cabinet of Ministers to local councils and administrations," the politician noted.
According to Vadym Kolesnichenko, Ukraine carries out a very serious fight against corruption, and society for its part must support the state.
"We have done a lot to reduce corruption pressure on society, and we have first results. Take for example judiciary. If during four years when I was working in the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Judicial Policy we fired five or six judges for violating the oath, then for the past year and a half - more than 200," the parliamentarian said. "The state is doing everything in its power, but we can not fight corruption if the society does not step forward," he summed up.
