It is necessary to implement the social initiatives more actively, President Viktor Yanukovych stressed at today’s meeting of the Committee for Economic Reforms’ Governing Council, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
"I am dissatisfied with the current state of affairs and the slow progress in addressing these issues even despite the fact that the Budget was adopted," said Viktor Yanukovych. He stressed that making amendments to the Budget had been one of the main conditions required for the successful implementation of social initiatives. "We now have the mechanism and the financial resources to implement this program," he said
The President noted that among the approved measures were: the new size of aid for war veterans with disabilities, increased living wage when calculating social benefits for the incapacitated, improved funding of medical care of the Chernobyl disaster victims, continuation of payment of devaluated savings, mechanisms that lower mortgage loan rates, etc.
"Implementation control over these decisions and timely performance of all the activities planned should be every official’s personal commitment. Every official, who fails to implement that task, will be discharged to do other things...," he said. The President also expressed confidence that the implementation of the social initiatives will boost Ukraine’s economic development.
