New housing in Ukraine will be built in accordance with European standards, minister for regional development, construction and communal services Anatoly Blyzniuk told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Now we are changing the state construction norms, harmonizing them with the European ones. All housing to be projected and built in 2012 will be energy efficient and will have energy passport of compliance. Calculated energy power consumption of a building will make about 80kW per square meter, which is close to the world standards," the minister said.

The official also underlined that such project meets Ukraine's obligations within European energy community.
