President Viktor Yanukovych is sure it is extremely important to preserve the historical memory of the heroism of our countrymen during the Great Patriotic War, he said at the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Ukrainian Veterans’ Organization.
The President said he had already given appropriate instructions to fund historical research, bringing the places of burial of war victims in order, etc.
"I am convinced, that present and future generations should never forget the cost of peace [you and your comrades had to pay], and should always be proud of your feat," the President said, referring to the veterans present.
He also called on the Ukrainian Veterans’ Organization to join the elaboration of the 70th anniversary of Victory celebration concept, which would begin shortly.
