Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region has sent to court the criminal case on activity of United Energy Systems of Ukraine, instituted against former PM Yulia Tymoshenko, prosecutor of Kharkiv region Gennady Turin told a press conference.
He also pointed out that a guilty verdict has been approved on the case.
According to the prosecutor, the investigation in the case proved Tymoshenko's involvement and guilt in five episodes: two episodes on tax evasion, an episode on theft of budget funds, an episode on attempted theft of budget funds and official forgery. The episodes concern the events of 1997-1998 years.
Turin noted that in accordance with the legislation the first hearing must be appointed within 10 days (maximum 30 days for special cases) after the case delivery in court. he also informed that the first hearings will be open to public.
Tymoshenko's lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko, who was present at the press conference, said that his defendant did not work in UESU in 1997-98 years, hence the accusations are illegal.
