Ukrainian former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, currently serving seven years of imprisonment in colony, has urged the opposition to unite for elections to the Verkhovna Rada. She believes that the failure of her party Batkivshchyna and Vitali Klitschko's UDAR in the election of mayor of the town of Obukhiv in Kyiv region is shameful and embarrassing, she wrote this in a letter placed on the Batkivshchyna's website on Tuesday.

"The opposition lost because it was separated. Again, our two candidates and again defeated... This is shameful, embarrassing and sad... It’s time to understand it wasn’t Batkivshchyna or Udar that lost. Democracy lost. Do unite immediately, right now, because if fail to do this now, tomorrow we won’t be corresponding through letters but by tapping on prison walls," Tymoshenko emphasized.
