The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has invited observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to monitor the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Voloshyn told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We have fulfilled our obligations, taken by Ukraine within cooperation security in Europe. We understand that parliamentary campaign in Ukraine is of big interests for our partners, and that they want to follow it closely," the official said.
According to Voloshyn, the invitation was sent in order to prevent any accusations and suspicions on avoiding involvement of international experts. He added that the OSCE would be able to prepare beforehand for the observation of the electoral process in Ukraine.
