From May 15 to July 15 Ukraine will introduce a regime of "open skies", vice PM and minister for infrastructure of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov declared.

"From May 15 to July 15 Ukraine's airspace will be opened for all existing airlines, which have corresponding licenses. Besides, we are finishing talks with one of the biggest low-cost airline, and I think we will get cheap flights before the championship's start," Kolesnikov said.

For years Ukraine has been trying to join the agreement on "open skies" with the EU. The talks started four years ago. At first the government forecast that Ukraine would join the common European airspace in 2011, and the European Commission confirmed this. But later the terms were moved to vague 2011-2012. Kolesnikov declared that Ukraine cannot sign the agreement on "open skies" until Europe cancels visa regime for Ukrainians. The EC responded with a surprise that the agreement on "open skies" has nothing to do with visa regime.
