When completed, the new law on the land market should guarantee the effective use of agricultural land, President Viktor Yanukovych told in an interview with journalists Yevhen Kyselyov, Savik Shuster, and Andriy Kulykov.
"We need to ensure that this law guarantees the effectiveness of agricultural land use," he said, adding that a number of amendments has been made to the draft law, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
The President noted that in such socially important topics as the land reform, public opinion should be taken into account. "I am strongly against ignoring the opinions of people when making such strategic decisions," he said.
Among other topics brought up during the interview were staffing changes in the Government, future Verkhovna Rada elections, Ukrainian-Russian relations, etc.
