The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed as basis the draft bill "On state service" with 251 votes in favor, ForUm's correspondent reports.

The author of the draft bill is Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

The draft bill allows state officials of the first category to continue their service in state bodies after the pension age of 65 years with permission of a state body or state official, who nominated them for this position and with personal consent of the very nominee.

The explanatory note to the draft bill says that the given draft bill will not affect the filling of the state budget of Ukraine, does not require public consultations and "does not contain any regulations or procedures, which might lead to corruption."
