Russia is interested in integration with Ukraine, but has no intention to force membership in t he Customs Union, deputy foreign minister of Russia Grigoriy Karasin said at the forum "Industry of 2012" in Moscow, ForUm correspondent reports.
The official reminded that in the second half of March the Moscow will hold an international council of Eurasian economic society at the presidential level, dedicated to further integration.
"Our Ukrainian partners take understandable interest in these processes, as we have close and large-scaled trade and economic ties," Karasin added. - "In 2011 the trade turnover of both countries reached $50 billion."
As for the possible forms of participation in the integration processes, the diplomat believes it must be conscious and economically calculated chose of Ukraine. "We do not hide our interest in Ukraine's active participation in our joint projects. At the same time, to drag somebody in the integration by force is hopeless idea," Karasin summed up.
