President Viktor Yanukovych has dismissed Andriy Kliuyev as Ukraine's first deputy Prime Minister and Minister of economic development and trade and appointed him as secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

With another decree, President Yanukovych has dismissed Raisa Bohatyryova from the position of NSDC Secretary and appointed as Vice-Prime Minister, Minister for Healthcare of Ukraine.

The main task of the new National Security and Defense Council Secretary is to develop the security sector of the state, President Viktor Yanukovych said presenting Klyuyev to the Council members and staff yesterday.

Yanukovych expressed hope that Andriy Klyuyev would coordinate the work of law enforcement agencies and special services in pursuit of the assigned tasks. "I hope the heads of law enforcement agencies and special services would become reliable links to this work,” President Yanukovych said.

Yanukovych also informed that Raisa Bohatyryova will be presented to the staff of Health Ministry on February 15 by Prime Minister Azarov. "When in office, the former National Security and Defense Council Secretary Raisa Bohatyryova has established herself as a responsible professional. I am convinced that Raisa Bohatyryova can do large amounts of work professionally and with great responsibility towards the state," the President said.
