Reduction of the tax burden is an important component of the work on improving the business climate and stimulating economic growth in Ukraine, stated First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev.

According to Andriy Klyuyev, reducing the number of inspections and regulatory bodies is the principled position of the Government. "It's not just about moratorium on tax audits of small and medium-sized businesses, which is prolonged in 2012, but about gradual decrease in the total number of tax audits. Introduction of analytical methods of search for subjects of the shadow economy makes it possible to find violators of the law without losing time and saving nerves of honest taxpayers," First Vice Prime Minister added.

He also stressed that the success of legalization of the economy depends not only on methods of force, but on measures to reduce the regulatory burden on the private sector, continuing to minimize bureaucratic procedures related to business activities.

Getting "out of the shadow" should be profitable, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the shadow economy over the past 5 years ranged between 28% and 39%.

According to calculations by the National Institute for Strategic Studies, the level of shadow economy in Ukraine is 52.8% of GDP.
