Chairman of EU representative office in Ukraine Jose Manuel Pintu Teishera was misquoted regarding his statement on compatibility of free trade areas with the EU and CIS, the EU representative office told UNIAN.
"The European Union declared from the very beginning that deep and exclusive free trade area agreement with Ukraine, which also provides for Ukraine's integration into the EU, is not incompatible with the agreement on free trade area within CIS, but incompatible with Customs Union among Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan," the representative office specified the quote of Teishera.
As reported, Channel 5 informed that in his interview Jose Manuel Pintu Teishera declared FTA agreement between Ukraine and the EU is incompatible with both simultaneous FTA agreements with CIS and Customs Union.
