Speaking at today's session of the Cabinet Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has charged Minister for regional development Anatoly Blyznyuk with holding consultations with governors regarding energy policy and energy efficiency, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the Premier, the state bodies should take into account the propositions and initiatives of public organizations. "Public organizations and specialists have intelligent and useful initiatives, which must be realized in the state policy," he said.

In addition, the prime minister suggested carrying out a comprehensive energy audit in the country and charged Blyznyuk with preparation of corresponding documents.

According to the Premier, the country needs a comprehensive energy audit in the heat power industry, industrial production, and housing and utilities sector. The audit will produce an objective picture of energy consumption, as well as show us where to apply our limited resources, Azarov said.

"Step after step we will clean this house, stuck in the 60ies of the last century," Azarov summed up.
