The European Union has allocated 1 million 550 thousand euro within the Twinning projects aimed at assistance to internal troops of the Interior Ministry, ForUm correspondent reports from the opening ceremony.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Internal troops Serhiy Yarovoy, the project will put the activity of the troops in line with EU norms and standards and will assist to adaptation of Ukrainian legislation in law enforcement sphere to the European one.

Yarovoy informed that the project realization will last a year- till January 2013. The project provides for four directions:

- improvement of institutional possibilities of the Internal troops;
- improvement of tactics during public order maintenance;
- improvement of professional training system;
- improvement of logistics support system.

In his turn French ambassador to Ukraine Alain Remy noted that this project is very important in light of holding European football championship by Ukraine. The ambassador informed that Twinning project provides for exchange of experience. In particular, representatives of Ukrainian internal troops will go Germany, Spain and France to study the experience of the European colleagues.
