For January Ukraine pumped necessary volume of Russian gas following the plan to purchase 27 milliard cu m of Russian gas per year, Energy Minister Yuri Boiko told a session of the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We have planned to purchase 27 milliard cu m of Russia gas per year, and in January Ukraine pumped the relevant part following the plan, not more. Due to abnormal weather the gas consumption has increased, but it is compensated by gas withdrawal from our own storage," he said.
Boiko also underlined that gas supplies to Europe are not at risk, and that gas is being delivered according to the schedule.
