Ukrainian airports will be fully ready for Euro-2012 somewhere in April-May, Vice PM and Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"For 20 years Ukraine has not build any one airport. We have built four. Terminal D in Boryspil will be ready in April. Lviv airport will be able to receive passengers in March. Besides, Lviv airport is the third in our country, which can receive all kinds of planes," the Vice PM said.

He also noted that Donetsk and Kharkiv airports had been completed. "This is a contribution of Mr Yaroslavski. If not Euro-2012, Kharkiv would not have had it very soon," the official underlined.

Kolesnikov informed that all airports will be functional under any weather conditions. "Anyway, the championship will be held in summer, hence no serious problems are expected," he said.

According to the Infrastructure Minister, Kyiv airport "Zhulyany" has also been completed. "This is a private airport. The air strip is ready. This airport is very convenient for Kyiv residents. If we manage to pave a metro line to it within three-four years, it will be the best airport ever," Kolesnikov added.

The Vice PM also thanked private investors, Rinat Akhmetov and Oleksandr Yaroslavski, and local authorities of the host-cities.
