Spring floods may occur earlier than the calendar spring, official of the Emergency Situations Ministry of Ukraine Hryhoriy Marchenko warned, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Marchenko, the Ministry starts preparations to prevent and fight floods already today. "To prevent floods and to fight the consequences Emergency Situations Ministry departments have relevant machinery, pumps, floating crafts, 70 mobile heating stations and 14 aviation units," the official specified.
Marchenko also paid attention to possible glaze ice. "Due to cold snap the roads risk to ice up. Besides, due to frosts the number of fires increases. We are getting ready," he underlined.
