Oleksandr Turchynov, the first deputy head of the Batkivshchyna Party, claims the Ministry of Health covers up about the true state of Yulia Tymoshenko’s health.

According to Turchynov, today opposition MPs obtained objective information about an incident that took place at the Kachanivska prison colony on January 6. He said that at approximately 22:30 on January 6, Yulia Tymoshenko lost consciousness immediately after taking medication for an acute respiratory infection.

"Yulia Volodymyrivna [Tymoshenko] fell unconscious immediately after taking the drugs, although she had no prerequisites for this. She was actually in a state of unconsciousness for more than two hours. For 20 minutes the woman who shares the cell with Yulia Tymoshenko knocked on the door to get medical staff. They opened the door after 20 minutes and the guards called the prison’s medical staff, which began resuscitation and only after midnight were able to bring Yulia Tymoshenko back to life. The whole time her blood pressure was 60/40," Turchynov told journalists, according to the official website of Yulia Tymoshenko.

Oleksandr Turchynov also said that Ministry of Health physicians were summoned to the prison later. "At night they had a meeting and decided to urgently, in the morning, examine her in a clinical setting. Therefore, on the morning of January 7, a clinical examination was conducted. Yulia Tymoshenko had a blood test, MRI, x-ray, etc. Afterwards, the Ministry of Health reported that ‘Yulia Tymoshenko’s health is satisfactory", covering up the facts about what happened to her," he said.

According to Oleksandr Turchynov, their faction will demand a parliamentary report from the head of the State Prison Service.
