Representative of the state prosecution, prosecutor Lilia Frolova told a press conference that from today the sentence of Yulia Tymoshenko on gas case comes into force.

"The decision has been announced. The Court of Appeals has five days to work out the decision in written form. From today the sentence comes into force," Frolova said.

According to the prosecutor, the state prosecution team was present during the announcement of the decision. "We managed to get in time," she added.

Frolova also declared that the state prosecution is satisfied with the decision of the Court of Appeals. "We did challenge the decision. We considered it legal and grounded, and today we have proved it in court," she underlined.

The prosecutor also informed that on December 29 at 4 pm the chamber of the Court of Appeals will announce the decision in full.

As a reminder, the chamber of Kyiv Court of Appeals has left unchanged the sentence of Yulia Tymoshenko, pronounced October 11 by Pechersk District Court of Kyiv on gas case. The corresponding decision was announced by presiding judge Olena Sytailo after 50-minute meeting in the decision room.

"The sentence by Pechersk District court to leave unchanged. The full text of the decision to announce December 29 at 4 pm," judge Sytailo pronounced.
