More than 60 thousand protest actions have been held in Ukraine in 2011, Interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko told the parliament during the Hour of questions to the government, ForUm correspondent reports.
"More than 60 thousand protest actions has been registered for 2011, and 31 of them have been held with offences," he informed.
According to the Minister 20 criminal cases have been instituted based on these offences.
Zakharchenko paid special attention to protest actions by Chernobyl liquidators. He said the law enforcement bodies respect the liquidators as 33 thousand representatives of law enforcement bodies participated in the liquidation of Chernobyl disaster, but added that politicization of this problem by politicians is unacceptable.
