Ukraine and Germany have significant opportunities for development of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Serhiy Tihipko said during the meeting of the joint Ukrainian-German High Level Group on economic cooperation in Kyiv, ForUm learned from the Party of Regions press office.
"Germany is our biggest trading partner in the European Union. We see great prospects for cooperation development," the official emphasized.
Vice Prime Minister noted that the main priorities of the Ukrainian Government are improving investment climate, as well as balancing public finances, expanding markets for domestic products, stabilization of banking system, reforming energy sector, in particular – increase of energy efficiency of Ukrainian enterprises and the housing industry. Serhiy Tihipko also added that our country is interested in using German experience in combating the crisis.
For his part, Stefan Kapferer, Headquarters Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of the Federal Republic of Germany, Head of the German High Level Group, notes that German investors welcome the Government's efforts to reform the economy. "But for us it is very important the taken decisions to be implemented in practice," Stefan Kapferer said.
