During the year the courts have approve claims for increases in benefits for two and a half million pensioners, deputy head of the Pension Fund of Ukraine Valentyna Nikitenko informed, according to the National radio.
She said that over 10 months of this year, the Pension Fund has allocated almost UAH 6 billion for payments to pensioners. She reminded that the Government on November 23 adopted a resolution "On improvement of social protection of citizens affected by the Chornobyl disaster."
The document, provides from January 1, 2012 for increased pensions to the Chornobyl accident cleaners and citizens affected by the disaster and also set the minimum pension payment for Chornobyl invalids.
