At today's meeting of the BYuT- Batkivshchyna faction Andriy Kozhemiakin was elected new head of the faction. Ivan Kyrylenko, former head of the parliamentary faction, applied for resignation due to the beginning of the election campaign, BYuT MP Roman Zabzaliuk told ForUm in a comment.
"Our strategic move for now is to organize the work of campaign headquarters and to prepare to the fight with falsifications. Ivan Kyrylenko is an experienced official, hence he was recommended for the post of the head of the Batkivshchyna party campaign headquarter," he said.
"The faction needs new blood. Young and initiative members must be given a free road," Kyrylenko said and added that from now on he would focus on the election campaign.
Kyrylenko also confirmed that the decision was discussed with the party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.
