The introduction of the Bologna Process in Ukraine is not perfect and needs to be revised, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth Androulla Vassiliou has said.

"It's difficult to forecast how much time the introduction of the Bologna Process in Ukraine will take. But at this stage, of course, we cannot speak about its complete introduction," she said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

According to the EU Commissioner, Ukraine has a lot to do in the sphere of management of higher education, reform implementation, along with introducing an education system that consists of three cycles and envisages bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees.

"Because it will be difficult for us to involve our universities in cooperation if Ukrainian universities don't have three cycles of education, which could make education in Ukrainian and Western universities relevant," she said.

In turn, President of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA)Serhiy Kvit said that NaUKMA is the first Ukrainian university that has a doctoral school and PhD programs.
