The Ukrainian delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostiantyn Hryshchenko on December 6-7 will take part in the 18th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vilnius (Lithuania).

It is expected that the Ministerial Council meeting will be attended by 44 foreign ministers from 56 countries participating in the organization, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported, according to UKRINFORM.

The meeting will review implementation of the assignments set by the leaders of member-countries at the OSCE summit in Astana in 2010 to strengthen the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security in the military, political, economic, environmental and human dimensions.

This meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council will have particular importance for the Ukrainian side: in 2013, Ukraine will chair the OSCE and from 1 January 2012 it will be a member of the OSCE Troika.

Minister Hryshchenko will also hold meetings with heads of delegations of the OSCE participating states.
