As of November 1, 2011 Kyiv has spent five milliard three million 320 thousand hryvnias for preparation to Euro-2012 championship out of the planned eight milliard, deputy Kyiv mayor Anatoly Golubchenko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to him, 723 million 93 thousand UAH were financed by the state budget, two milliard 416 million were allocated by the state program on capital functioning and one milliard 863 million were given by the local budget.

"You should also take into account that European Union did not give a penny to Ukraine, unlike Poland," Golubchenko said. "And if you add the political situation, the achieved results look better than just good."

"Hosting the championship is a unique chance for Ukraine to make social and economic jump. If not Euro-2012, all these changes would happen not in four, but in 10-12 years," Golubchenko summed up.
